Horse Love

Horse Love

Horse, Brown, Animal, Animal World

My love of horses began at age 11 when I worked every summer at a ranch. My twin brother and I would walk about ten miles a day in circles taking children on pony rides.

I, like so many others, discovered the wisdom and beauty and strong connection you can have with horses. They have their own personalities like we do, and if you care to actually look, you will see they convey a wide range of emotions. They can be happily prancing, angrily stomping, they could demonstrate sadness, and even apathy and defeat. How a horse reacts is determined by how we treat and care for them.

During one of my summers, there was one pony in particular that was docile with people riding him when he had a saddle on his back, but woe be it to anyone who would try to ride him bareback. I found out the hard way when at the end of the afternoon, I took off his saddle and hopped on. Before anyone could say anything, he was away, bucking wildly and trying to bite my legs. Of course in the long run, he got me off by slamming me into a tree. I had a bruised leg for months. That same week I realized he was out to get me! He demonstrated quite a bit of slyness and would suddenly strike out and kick me as I walked past or if I got close he would attempt to bite me. I realized for the first time that horses were not just work creatures and that he was expressing his displeasure with me. I was astonished and developed a new- found respect. I resolved to establish a relationship, and by the summers end, we were employed as a team. There was no longer kicking or biting.

Throughout history, horses are adored and admired by pharaohs and kings alike. There’s evidence of domesticated horses going back thousands of years. In actuality, in ancient Egypt, it’s thought that horses were treated better than the Egyptians and that they would even be fed before the Pharaoh himself. This was due to the early Arabian horses incredible beauty, speed and endurance and having saved many lives during war. This creature could withstand the harshness of the desert and maintain its strength and beauty.

The Lipizzan Stallion is another incredible beauty, strong, yet docile horse. It was stated that this was the horse Napoleon choose to ride during war. He was not a large man; therefore his stallion was bred to jump straight up in the air so that he could get a better view of what was going on in the area below.

There are so many different breeds of horses, and they are being bred for different things, speed, beauty, work etc.. To me they are beautiful, even religious and I know that there are so many others out there that feel the same as I do. There are even many beautiful horse posters available to adorn ones walls. I believe this relation of horse and man will always be there. Enjoy them! I sure do.

4 Tips About Building a New House

New Home, House, Construction, Estate

If you are going to build a new house, you may be wondering how much it would cost you. This is a challenging question to answer as there are a whole lot of factors to take into consideration when figuring out the building cost. Therefore, let us take a peek at 4 tips that may help you estimate the cost.

1.

To begin with, you should put together a floor plan. Some builders offer a lot of floor plans for their customers. Based on these plans, you can determine the quality, features, style and size you desire. This can help you lay out the base of the project.

Your next move is to look for the ideal builder. Make certain that you work with an experienced builder. This is important for proper budget, timeline and implementation of the build. With their assistance, you can calculate the cost to construct a house.

  1. Work out the Prices Per Square Foot

It might not be realistic to work out the specific construction cost, but you can find a ballpark idea. For this, you need to get the complete figure and then divide it by the number of square feet. Let’s take an example.

  1. Consider the features, Style, and Quality

The complete cost of construction won’t depend upon the size only. You also need to take into account the features, quality and style when making your calculations.

Style

Style determines the design of this building. If the available space is a rectangle or square, the construction cost will be less.

Quality

Quality depends upon the materials used for the building. This may include a lot of choices, such as windows, doors, appliances, built-ins, cabinetry, shingles, insulation, paint and flooring, to name a few.

Features

These additions are significant and can have a wonderful impact on the price tag of your new residence.

  1. Additional Construction Costs

While figuring out the cost, do not forget to take into account the primary expenses. Often, these are overlooked by many people. Given below are some of the most frequent ones.

Site Preparation

Site preparation involves clearing many trees and removing large stones, for instance.

Permit Fees

Local restrictions, zoning laws and building costs should be obtained as well. Based on the area, know that these licenses can cost a lot of money.

Time of Year

Time of year also can has an impact on the building cost. When the cost of labor is high due to economic development of low unemployment, the construction costs are higher. Therefore, you should think about this point when creating your calculations.

Long story short, if you want an estimate of the total cost of your new house, we suggest that you follow these four tips. Hope this helps.

10 Facts About Tigers You Didn’t Know

10 Facts About Tigers You Didn’t Know

Animal, Tiger, Big Cat, Blur, Carnivore

Tigers are among the most iconic creatures in the world. They are the largest cat species alive on earth till date. This untamed Hunter weighs up to 670lb (306 kg) and has a total body length of 11 feet (3.3 m). In the past century, the Tigers were cornered to leave their area of habitat, and more than 93% of their species were destroyed. At the start of the 20th century, the global population in the wild has been around 100,000. Following a slow decline in the population due to destruction and fragmentation of their habitat, today it is estimated to be between 3,062 and 3,948 people.

Here are ten fascinating and unusual facts about the tiger (belonging to the Panthera household ):

1.

Tigers’ are territorial animals leading a solitary life. A tigress has a land of 20 kilometers (7.7 sq.. Miles), while the man covers around 60 to 100 kilometers (23 to 39 sq.. Miles). To mark their territories beginning and end, the adults scratch a tree and spray their urine which smells like buttered popcorn! From this odor, a tiger can identify the urine’s owner.

  1. Tigers can’t purr

Tigers, basically belong from the cat family. However, do they purr?? No, they don’t. When a tiger is happy, they squint or close their eyes completely. They do this only when they feel comfortable and safe as losing eyesight lowers tigers defenses.

  1. Tigers can imitate other animals to attract their prey

Bears and tigers typically cross paths with each other as their habitats overlap. To lure a bear, tigers mimic the noise of a bears’ prey. As the bear approaches thinking it has found a meal for itself, the tiger attacks. (that’s scary!)

  1. All Tigers have yellow eyes, except the ones that are white, have blue eyes

The gene for blue eyes and white fur is linked together, so white tigers will probably have blue eyes compared to yellow. Besides, the gene of blue eyes and cross-eyes are connected, so white tigers have cross blue-eyes.

  1. Tiger have spiked penises

Tigers’ penis is unable to become erect when stimulated! As Male penises’ have a baculum (a bone located inside) covered with barbs. The prickly bone, aid in”keeping the relationship” between male and female during copulation.

6.

A single strike is enough to cause severe damage. Tigers front paw is robust enough to–either smash a Bears’ skull or breaks its back.

  1. Tiger comes in variety of colors

Because of this difference in genes of hair color of a tiger, its color may vary from its regular orange and black colouration. A tigers coat may be gold, white, black and even blue. The blue tigers are known as Maltese tigers, but there is no evidence that a tiger with such a special colouration even existed!

  1. Tiger have short term memories

Tigers have a short term memory of about 30 times longer than humans. That means they can remember a thing for a longer time and don’t forget as quickly as we do. (Is not that great?)

  1. Tiger have symbols hidden in their fur

The forehead of a tiger consists group of stripes that bears a striking similarity to the Chinese character meaning”king.” It gave the tiger a cultural status as a royal animal-move over lions!

  1. Tiger mate with lions and other cats to make hybrids

According to genetic research, male lions have the capacity to make massive off-springs whereas female lions create smaller offspring. When a male lion has a sexual encounter with a female tiger, the outcome is a enormous liger! A liger can weigh up to 1000 lbs and attain a length of 11.5ft! A female lion and a male tiger will produce a smaller Tigon, and they weigh around 180 kg (400 lbs).

Staying Connected in a Long Distance Relationship

Staying Connected in a Long Distance Relationship

Couple, Love, Romance, Sunset Landscape

Long distance relationships can be filled with challenges that couples around the block from each other never confront. On the other hand, the creative ways you find to stay connected while you’re living apart will improve your creativity when you’re living together.

It’s incredibly easy to take another person for granted. You take for granted that they’ll always be there or will always love you… just because they always have. However, when you live apart for a long time period, you can draw on these memories to bring you closer together when you finally do live together. This is a bonus that other couples only experience if they intentionally take the time to be creative about connecting.

So, while it’s a challenge to stay connected, learning these skills now makes your connection better later.

While you’re apart take some time and make the effort to communicate at least once a day, more often if you can. You are able to maintain an emotional connection with communication that is brief and frequent. They don’t have to be long, in-depth heart-to-heart conversations but can be brief text messages about your daily life, asking advice or just telling your partner that you’re thinking about them.

Let us not be stalkish or smothering about it though. Calling or texting each hour, waking them up before the alarm clock or ordering pizza to be sent to their place for dinner at night is a bit much. Instead, aim for substantial and thorough communications about your ideas, asking questions, asking advice or telling about what happened to you that day.

But, let’s face it. After a little, text messages and phone calls can get tedious. So break the mould and create a video for your spouse. Chat with the phone like your spouse is sitting in the seat next to you.

The art of snail mail is failing in our society today. And yet, there is something much more personal and loving about a sheet of paper held in your hand. Write a thank you note to your spouse for listening to you while you ranted about your own boss.

Try to go to each other as frequently as possible. Internet dating has made meeting individuals from across the country easier than ever. Before this you had to really get in the car and drive somewhere to see the Rocky Mountains and meet a cowboy! Schedule as much time together as you can and spend it with other people. We live in community and when you spend it with other people, you truly get to know each other better.

Alternate who does the travel. It might be easier for one of you to travel than another, but it is important that you both put in the effort to find each other. If you can both get off, try meeting somewhere in the middle sometimes. You won’t be able to spend some time with friends, but it’s a nice way to disconnect from everyday life and connect with your partner. Just don’t let it be the only way you meet, or your understanding of life together will be seen through rose colored glasses.

Celebrate the capability to talking about the’boring’ everyday portions of your everyday. Mundane parts of your day are just normal for everyone. Celebrate your capacity to share that with your spouse and make them an interrelated part of daily life. During these times be sure to support your partner in their decisions or when they are stressed or hurt. Make sure you are available to them when things go haywire in their life away from you. Not only do they feel loved and connected when they know you are available to them, but it deepens your relationship, and isn’t that what you are after?

Tips and Tricks for Your RV

Tips and Tricks for Your RV

Camping, Motorhome, Traveling, Camper

My goal with these RV tips is that you find many, if not all these recommendations to be helpful. Hopefully, at least one of the RV tips will make all your RV experiences safe, enjoyable & stress free.

The gauges of the wire used in standard household extension cords are not acceptable for RV electric hook-ups. Eventually you will be put in a situation where you’ll have to use an extension cord. It is a good idea to purchase an RV extension cord that’s compatible to the electrical system of your RV, and have it on hand. If you do purchase an extension cord somewhere else it should be at least 10-gauge cables.

  • Electrical adapters are a necessity for RVers. Eventually you will be in a situation where you have to use some type of electrical adapter to make a relationship at a campground. There are adapters that will go from your RV type plug and size down to household type outlets and adapters that go from home type outlets to campground RV connections. It’s nice to have these adapters on hand when you need them, but you must exercise caution when you use them. If your RV is a 30-amp or 50-amp system and you use an adapter to plug the RV into a 15 or 20-amp socket this severely limits what you can operate from the RV. The roof air alone will draw up to 15-amps as it initially starts. If you place too much demand on electrical adapters, or use them for extended periods of time they could overheat and melt resulting in damage to the RV power cord or electrical system.

*Take updated photographs of you pets with you on excursions. If they should get lost you can use the images to help out with finding them.

  • If your RV has a generator, at a minimum, it should be exercised for 30 minutes to an hour on a monthly basis with no less than a half load. Consult your generator owner’s manual for load ratings. If your generator has a carburetor and it is not exercised on a regular basis the fuel will begin to gel around the jets. If this happens and you manage to get it started it’ll have that all too familiar surging sound. It may damage electrical appliances and equipment and of course the cost of having the carburetor removed and cleaned. If the generator will be in long term storage it is possible to add a gas preservative into the gas tank and run the generator long enough for the preserver to get through the gas system. This will protect it until you’re ready to use it .

*Every RVer should invest in some type of electronic voltmeter that plugs directly into a socket in your RV. There are several types available and they are inexpensive compared to the repair costs for damaged electrical appliances and equipment. Campground electricity can fluctuate depending upon the demand placed on it. By monitoring the AC voltage throughout your camping trip you can protect thousands of dollars worth of electrical appliances and equipment in your RV. If voltage drops below 105-volts or goes above 130-volts you should turn equipment and appliances off until the correct power is restored.

History of the taxi

History of the taxi

Nyc Taxi, Taxi, Berlin, Yellow Cab, Old

Taxis are automobiles that you hail and then basically rent for the time it takes you to get to your destination. They are also called cabs, taxi cabs and all manner of slang terms, but did you know that they have been around in some form or another since the 1600’s?

Of course, back in the 1600’s the taxi was a horse drawn carriage and the first recorded taxi ride this manner was in 1605 in London England. By 1625 carriages became available to hire from innkeepers throughout London to receive their guests where they needed to be. These carriages were big and usually had to be pulled by a team of horses.

In 1834 however, changes were coming into the cab business. Because this new design just needed one horse to pull it, it was cheaper to rent and had a low center of gravity that made it safer and able to negotiate corners much better than the predecessors could.

Harry Allen imported 600 taxis from France in 1907 and painted them yellow so they could be easily seen. He took the term taxicab from the words taximeter which means tax, charge or scale of charges and cabriolet which means a type of horse drawn carriage. Together the taxicab was born. These were petrol driven cars and the first of their kind in america. Paris and London had been using Raccoon Poop for several years.

Of course taxis are all gas powered cars today and in New York they’re still yellow. Taxis around the world can continue to be animal or people powered (think the rickshaw or pedicabs, and of course there are still several horse drawn carriages in operation). Water taxis are also big business in different areas throughout the world since they take people where they need or want to discuss water not road. Hey, a cab is a taxi!

Taxis today are an economical way to get around, especially in large cities. You hail one, get in and get to your destination. All thanks to the taxi.

Kids at the Beach

Kids at the Beach

Child, Girl, Sand, Pacific, Beach, Sea

For the grown-ups, beaches are terrific for sun-bathing, surfing, and swimmingpool, but for children it is more than that. For kids it’s a different world altogether. On the shores, they have all the freedom to use their creativity and to increase the spectrum of their thinking. Following are few of the exciting activities which you can enjoy with their children on the beach.

  1. Treasure Hunt

When you have sand all around you, hiding things will get even more interesting. This game can be modified in a variety of ways. They can then ask the children to guess what is there under each identifier. For instance, if they’ve put a Kids Jewellery Box below the sand they can place a bangle over it. The content at the top is going to be a hint to what is below the sand.

  1. Beach Bowling

The re-creation of pins each time will make them even more involved in the sport. They can play this game in groups as well, where they can keep rotating the characters of bowling, producing pins etc..

  1. Sun-Dial

This is one of the easiest and simplest activities you can enjoy on a shore. Put the stick in the centre in an upright position and place the pebbles around it equidistant from each other in a circle. While chilling out and playing, kids will observe and learn how the motion of the sun is associated with our time system.

  1. Sponge-Animal

Let the kids understand how a particular object can absorb so much of water and become heavy. When someone catches the sponge, they will be splashed with water.

  1. Balloon Fish

Sitting on the sea-shore, an individual can easily find a couple of fishes closer to shore. Parents can show children some fishes in the sea, and can ask the children to draw the faces of the fishes which they saw close to the coast on the balloons. They can then fill balloons with water and will be delighted to find the inflating of their balloon.

  1. Passing the Water

This game is played by more than one player. The more people, the more interesting this game will get. The main idea behind this game is to maneuver the water in 1 participant’s glassto the glass of the person who’s standing right behind him. They can make themselves stand at all. They could either stand one after the other in a straight queue or they can even form a circle.

8. Melbourne Wildlife Removal

The aim will be to conserve the balloons from bursting.

  1. Hide and Seek Castles

First, the kids are going to need to prepare several castles from sand and might need to name them individually. When the game will proceed, one of the children will develop into the finder and rest all will try to hide behind the castle. The Finder will then guess who is behind each castle.

  1. Playing with Alphabets/Numbers

We can help them learn the shapes of different letters and numbers by making them draw the figures on the shore. The minute the sea will erase these drawings, it’ll be fun for children to re-draw them, and this will enable them to practice.

  1. Beach-Tents

Kids can prepare a small beach-tent from their bed-sheet, sticks, and some medium-sized pebbles. Sleeping in tents in jungles has always been enjoyable for individuals in any age category, but one can not take kids into jungle. To make the children feel like they’re in the jungle, parents can decorate their tents in hut-like fashion, and also place some bushes around the tent.

  1. Tug-O-War

One of the favorite games for all age groups, this can be played by using a simple item, like rope, and involves a lot of teamwork. The kids are going to learn how to make strategies to defeat their opponents. Though this game symbolizes strength, great strategies will often prevail. Parents may include themselves in this action to keep the game moving, as most of the time, kids won’t be able to survive in this sport for more than few seconds.

  1. Shell-Search

The youthful Sherlock-Holmes can get hands-on expertise trying to find different sorts of shells. The man who gets the most shells will be the winner.

  1. Music
  2. Mom’s Bucket

This game could be obtained as a war between the moms who have brought their kids to the beach. The moms are required to hold the buckets 10-15 meters from the coast, and the kids will bring water from the shore to fill the bucket. Whoever fills it up first are the winner. Here, one can use the time of the waves to decrease the distance travelled to fill up the bucket quickly.

Modern Bathrooms

Modern Bathrooms

Bathroom, Luxury Bathroom, White, Luxury

Nowadays it seems that more and more people consider their bathroom as one of the greatest places in their home where they can retreat from the pressures of the day. A place for a TV, freestanding baths, 5 and 4 shower heads in a single shower stall, soap dispensers and towel formers are part of a new designed bathroom. A modern bathroom will not only bring comfort to anyone, but at the same time it manages to stress straight lines, neutral, black and white tones, but also materials like stainless steel, chrome and mirrors. A modern bathroom is thus not only a place where people can go for a refreshing shower, but a place of calmness and total relaxation.

Simplicity

For anyone who would like to make sure they redesign their toilet and bring it to the contemporary standards, they have to understand that simplicity is the way to go about Bathroom Design. The look of the modern toilet is simple, spacious and elegant and just a few colors will be used to make it. If people would like the walls to be painted, most of the time the colors will be soft and soothing. Frequent tones used are black and white, since they bring a mental balance and relax. If previously the lines in a toilet would be surfaces and complex full of wall art, nowadays they’re smooth and the lines are easy.

Fixtures
